"If we didn't already know the experience of what we're looking for, we would never look. It simply would not occur to us...
We begin to seek - where, what is that which we long for, our essence, our True Nature, that which we truly are? - and slowly, painstakingly we begin to follow it home. Haltingly, fearfully, sometimes excitedly, joyfully, we begin to follow it back to itself, back to who we really are.
What we are looking for is causing us to look. That's why we need not go anywhere, do anything, learn more, figure it out, worry about going wrong. We need only stop, sit down, be still, and pay attention."
Perfect.
ReplyDeleteI've never read anything of Cheri Huber's but have now added her to my wish list. Thank you, Susannah, for introducing me to a lovely variety of authors/guides.
Blessings!
Darla...She is so playful and simple and her books are deep and delightful. I don't remember how I stumbled upon her, but I have enjoyed all of her books. I know you will too! More soon, I'm sure... xoxox Susannah
ReplyDeleteI feel this post is speaking directly to me! I'm searching for something, that I know not what. I'm searching for myself to be still and satisfied, rather then restless.
ReplyDeleteThere is a Rumi quote that is a variation on this: "What you seek is seeking you." I have it taped to my mirror to remind me to simply open myself to what the Universe is trying to tell me and where it is trying to lead me. :)
